When placing a reservation, please provide us with the name of each guest in your party, as well as a phone number and email address for each guest. Thank you!!

MAY

Off to the Races…the Wright Way                              Saturday, May 2nd

Join us as we load into summer’s starting gate! Enjoy an open house at The O. Even if the Derby’s not your thing, come awaken the season with some race day fun. Gather inside the main dining room at 4 to mingle with friends, enjoy a cocktail or two, and be sure to treat yourselves to a delicious burger and Derby-themed treats from the Wright Way Truck. Can’t wait to see you all back at The O… Be sure to wear your Derby hats and come ready to play!!

Floral Arranging Workshop                                       Wednesday, May 6th

         w/ Florals By Kait

We’re thrilled that Kait is going to teach us to arrange floral centerpieces – just in time for Mother’s Day. Create an arrangement for Mom, or – better yet – bring Mom so you can enjoy the workshop together and each bring home a keepsake. Kait will provide instruction, flowers, and containers. This will be a fun, creative evening of learning, visiting with friends, and letting our creativity flow. Should you care to treat yourself to a glass of wine, the bar will be open. And if you’d like, you may pre-order a small charcuterie cup for an additional $15. Class is limited to 20 people, so reserve your spot early. Please direct questions to the office at 203-488-3805.

Mother’s Day Brunch w/ Shaken & Stirred                 Sunday, May 10th

We’re delighted that Shaken & Stirred will again cater our Mother’s Day Brunch. From 11 – 11:30, treat yourself to a Mimosa or a Bloody Mary, while enjoying assorted pastries. At 11:30, we’ll begin inviting tables through the buffet that will feature: Egg Sliders (Egg, Cheese & Pancetta or Pesto and Red Pepper), Cheesy Scrambled Eggs, Applewood Smoked Bacon & Sausage, Chicken Bites & Waffles, Mini Avocado Toasts, Honey Baked Ham, Garden Salad in a Cup, and Macaroni & Cheese, followed by mini cheesecake parfaits and cannoli cups for dessert. Moms will be treated to a complimentary Mimosa upon arrival.

The season is finally here… let’s celebrate!! Woohoo, our friends at The Cast Iron Chef are rolling in on wheels to cater our Opening Party, and they’re bringing Nonna to cook up some of her favorites. Since “Nonna Knows Best,” cocktail hour will be for mingling, cocktails, and enjoying some of Nonna’s assorted stuffed breads. Enjoy the breads with cocktails, and save room for a delicious, buffet-style entrée featuring: 

Salad: House Salad; Two Pastas: Gnocchi Bolognese & Rigatoni a la Vodka

Two Chickens: Chicken Piccata & Chicken Cutlet; Nonna’s Spicy Meatballs;

Veggies: Broccoli & Roasted Potatoes; Dessert: Skillet Cookies with Ice Cream; Coffee and Tea.

JUNE

NEBCO at The O – Beer Release Party                       Friday, June 5th

Summer’s in Session, and our new beer has arrived just in time to kick off the season! The O and NEBCO have partnered to create a lager for leisurely summer days and nights. Come celebrate the release of this tasty, refreshing pilsner. If you could capture the joy of summer in a can, it would taste like this. 

We’re excited about this collaboration and hope you will join us for a playful, casual evening of lawn games, music, cocktails, and delicious food offerings from the food truck. We’ll set out croquet, cornhole, and giant Jenga. A food truck will be here, we’ll have music, and let’s enjoy a beautiful, summer evening with a refreshing beer in hand. 

Time: 6 p.m. – No fee, but please call office so we can get an approximate count.                     

Father’s Day – Burgers, Ballads, & Brews                   Sunday, June 21st

Treat Dad to a relaxing day at the shore. From 3 – 6, Don Fillion will entertain us with beachside ballads, the beach bar will feature tasty brews from local breweries, and be sure to stay for dinner, as The Shanty will be offering burger specials. 

Time: Enjoy the beach all day! Music will play from 3-6

Magic of Summer – Magic of Reading                        Sunday, June 28th

                  w/ Magician Jon Cap & RJ Julia Booksellers

Presto, just like that RJ Julia is back at The O. At 12:30, Jon Cap will entertain children of all ages with his fabulous magic show. After learning some new tricks, adults and children are encouraged to explore the RJ Julia Book Fair. Stock up on summer reads, so you and your children can enjoy the magic of reading. A portion of the proceeds from the book sale will be donated to the Jane Rosenthal Fund at The Branford Community Foundation.

Here we go… we’re kicking off our Food Truck & Firepit Friday Series with Wango Tango. Join us on the lawn for a festive evening of food trucks, firepits, and fun. This is a recurring event every Friday in July & August. While the event officially starts at 6, members have the advantage of arriving early to get settled and enjoy some dinner prior to the crowd. The O waives the entry fee for members and provides preferred member parking on the garden lawn. As a reminder, please adhere to the no outside food, no cooler policy – kindly enjoy dinner from the trucks.

Fourth of July Summer Sizzler                                   Saturday, July 4th

We’re getting the band back together… Our Owenego crew is heading back into the kitchen to cook up a 4th of July Sizzling Steak Night. After a day at the beach, come on in to enjoy: a 10 oz. NY Strip hot off the grill with toppings (grilled onions and sauteed mushrooms), a baked potato bar with toppings (sour cream, scallions, and bacon), and a garden salad. We keep this one simple and delicious. After dinner, enjoy coffee, cocktails, ice cream, and dancing. While we will set tables, you are welcome to grab a table on the decks or patio to enjoy your steak outdoors.

Thimble Island Cruise                                               Thursday, July 9th

All aboard… We’re going to set sail for a two-hour tour through the spectacular Thimble Islands. The O will provide nibbles and music, and should you care to treat yourself to a cocktail or two, the Sea Mist will offer a cash bar. Hopefully we’ll catch a beautiful sunset on our way back to the dock. Since capacity is limited, payment in full is required at time of reservation. 

Time: Meet at Stony Creek Dock at 6:00, and we’ll board the Sea Mist at 6.

Camp Rising Sun’s Annual Night Out                         Wednesday, July 15th

Join us for our largest fundraising event of the season, Camp Rising Sun’s Annual Night Out. This huge, community event is near and dear to our hearts, as it benefits Camp Rising Sun, a camp where “kids with cancer have fun.” Enjoy a fun-filled summer evening, while raising funds for this incredible camp. We will notify everyone when tickets are available for purchase in the office.  Thank You!
